My happy place 📚💡🤓 Found a new (to me) used bookstore yesterday and I could have browsed forever. So many ideas and stories...If I ever go missing, I'm probably just curled up in an aisle of a local bookstore reading Tom Robbins 😁
DAY 19 of the January Meditation Challenge!
Today we're going to do a 10 minute visualization meditation to discover YOUR happy place 😄
Sit comfortably in a quiet place with your spine straight but relaxed and your eyes gently closed. Take several deep breaths to relax your body, then return your breath to its normal rhythm.
Imagine, visualize or feel that you are in a place in nature where you feel completely relaxed and peaceful. Look around and notice all the details. How does the air feel? Is there a breeze? What sounds are around? Smells? Notice as much as you can.
After a few minutes, begin to walk down a pathway that leads towards a large gate. Through this gate is a safe, happy, comfortable place that brings you peace and joy. Notice how the gate looks from the path. Now walk through the gate and enter your special place. Notice how the air feels, how it looks, the smells, sounds and tastes that are present. Spend some time in this place noticing all the details you can. How do you feel inside this special place? What emotions arise? Anything that comes up is just perfect.
When you're ready, look around one last time before walking out, feeling reassured with the knowledge that you can always go back to that sacred place anytime you want to - it is always there for you. Enjoy this feeling for a minute as you walk back along the path, and when you're ready, slowly come out of the meditation.
