Today’s #FollowOurRescueFriends feature of handsome hunk Oliver Hart is a perfect example that adopting a dog is a gift for your heart. @oliverharttheschnauzer could easily be the cover model for “Studmuffin Schnauzers” magazine with his delicious beard and charming one up/one down ears – he is cuteness on overdrive. Here’s this goofy, playful, and lovable sweet pea’s rescue tale as told by his kind Momma: “The day I got Oliver.
I had been going through some tough times and looking at schnauzers online always made me feel happy. To be completely honest I was not looking to get a dog. I had long days and didn't live in the best environment to have a dog. Even knowing that, when I saw his picture online I thought it would be nice to at least visit this cutie. So I visited him around 6pm on Feb. 8th at the animal shelter. I then convinced my boyfriend at the time to go with me the following day to see him. We went back on the 9th. I cried a lot knowing that I wanted this dog, but kept thinking it probably wasn't the best idea to adopt. I did it anyways. I adopted him and took him home that day. I had changed his name to Oliver - 'Oliver Hart.' When I adopted him his name was actually Farnsworth. Weird I know. Oliver/Farnsworth had no back story! He was transferred from another local shelter that had no information/story on him. They said he was approximately 3-5 years old. I decided I'd say he was 4 years old. It's really hard for me not to know where he came from. Did he have a family? Was he found living on the street? He was a scruffy matted guy when I adopted him - which led me to believe maybe he wasn't cared for well...I may not know his background but I'm quite certain at least that now he is living like a king and he deserves every single second of it. I love my Oliver more than anything or anybody in th world. Oliver saved me.
Just a note:
A dog is a HUGE responsibility. Please be prepared for all of their needs. Adopting a rescue is such an amazing experience and I'm so glad to share our story with you!” 💓
